ETSI ITS-G5 defines the European 5.9 GHz access profile used with the ETSI cooperative-ITS stack. It matters to V2X because it gives independently developed systems a common technical contract. Related radio, networking, message, security, charging, or conformance standards still have to be implemented together where the complete system requires them.
